Types of USA Authorities

(CTPAT) Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism

Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) is one layer in U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) multi-layered cargo enforcement strategy. Through this program, CBP works with the trade community to strengthen international supply chains and improve U.S. border security. CTPAT members are considered to be at low risk, and are therefore less likely to be examined at a U.S. port of entry.

PIP (Partners in Protection)

PIP (Partners in Protection) is a cooperative program between private industry and the CBSA aimed at enhancing border and trade chain security. It is designed to streamline and make border processes more efficient for low-risk, pre-approved businesses recognized as trusted traders.

(CSA) Customs Self Assessment

The Customs Self Assessment (CSA) program offers approved carriers the benefits of a streamlined clearance option for CSA eligible goods.

SmartWay

SmartWay is a voluntary program that links freight shippers—manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers and logistics service providers — with fuel-efficient carriers

Canada In-Bond shipment

An in-bond shipment is an imported or exported shipment that has yet to be cleared by Customs. The in-bond shipment process allows for the goods to be moved or stored by the government, even if they have not been obtained approval by Customs.

USA Bonded Carriers

Bonded carriers are unique in the way that they facilitate the flow of goods through any port of entry into other countries without having to pay duties on the shipment. This allows the product to make it to its final location more quickly and efficiently.

Transportation of Dangreous Goods Canada

Transportation of Dangreous Goods Canada Dangerous goods are commodities that, when transported, pose some form of danger to people, animals, the environment, or the carrier. Dangerous goods can be either acceptable or unacceptable for shipping. The Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Program develops safety standards and regulations, provides risk-based oversight and gives expert advice on dangerous goods to promote public safety in the transportation of dangerous goods by all modes of transport regulated by Transport Canada. There are nine classifications of dangerous goods that identify the type of danger each possesses. You are responsible for correctly identifying, classifying, packaging, marking, labelling and completing documentation for dangerous goods according to national and international governmental regulations. The government requires you to have job-specific training before offering a dangerous goods shipment
